Szobanövényekről kezdtem el képeket készíteni, kezdetben magam sem tudtam miért. Érdekesnek találtam ezeket a tárgyiasult élőlényeket, melyek a legkülönfélébb helyeken, lakásokban, irodákban, intézményekben fordulnak elő. Funkciójuk (már ha van ilyen) nem egyértelmű: a levegő minőségének javításán túl, elsősorban esztétikai, díszítő jellegük miatt lettek mindennapi életünk részei. Létük, alkalmazásuk beleivódott a tárgykultúránkba; hasonlóképpen teszünk virágot az ablakba, mint terítőt az asztalra, képet a falra, párnát a kanapéra, vagy tuját a bejárat elé. Az elnevezés (dísz-növény), számomra már önmagában magában hordozza abszurditásukat: élő lények – díszítő szerepben.

I started making pictures of indoor plants, without any specific reason at the beginning. I found these objectified living beings interesting , as they occur in the most miscellaneous places: flats, offices, institutions. Their function (if they have any) is not clear. Besides their beneficial effects on the quality of air, they became parts of our lives because of their decorative nature. Their existence and use ingrained into our furnishing culture. We put plants in windows with similar consideration as cloth onto the table, picture onto the wall, cushion onto the sofa, or tuya in front of the entrance door. For me the name itself (decorative plants in Hungarian) is holding their absurdity: living creatures – in decorative role.
